Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born the 18th of November 1985 in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley while her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident right from the first day she enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks following her first attempt. Felix was signed to an official career at Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to study elementary education. In 2004, Felix achieved her first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting the world junior record doing 200 meters with a time of 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest ever world champion in the 200 meters in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was a participant in the Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo always finishing in the top three of her events.
